Selling Your Car through a Dealership

There are many different ways you can sell your car. The fastest way is to take it to a dealership. Some dealerships will give you a quote within a few days. Once you have gotten your quote you can decide to sell it to them or sell it privately. If you decide to get rid of your car quickly through the dealership, they probably won’t give you enough money for it. They need to make a profit off of the car too. They will probably offer a low price and turn around to sell the car for much more. One of the only plus sides to selling your car through a dealership is the possibility of getting a better deal on a newer car. They can sometimes lower the buying price of a new car if you have just sold them your used car.
Another way to sell your car through a dealership is by consignment. The way this works is by placing your car on their lot to sell it. Instead of you having to deal with different buyers, you can pay the dealership to deal with the buyers. They will promote and sell your car for usually a flat rate. All you need to do is pay the dealership that flat rate and they will try their hardest to sell your car. When I was ready to sell, I went around to different dealerships to compare the amount they were willing to give me. Selling my car through a dealership by consignment seemed to be a better route to take. I was going to make the most amount of money this way and it was still not going to take too long.
There are also some ways to sell your car at multiple dealers instead of just one. You can do this by contacting different companies who will take you to the car auctions. At these auctions, different dealers will bid on the cars that are for sale. If you want to sell your car this way, you will be able to watch the dealers bid for your car. You might be able to get a good amount of money for your car if it is in mint condition with low miles and all stock. The dealers look for great looking cars, great running cars, and long lasting cars. If your car qualifies under all of those categories the dealerships will be fighting for your car.
